Today is a very important family day, and I’m really happy. All my uncles, aunts, cousins, and grandparents are coming to see me. My grandparents recently moved to a different country, so we used to have to go visit them, but now they’re just down the street.
I miss my Grandma and Grandpa so much when they’re gone, and I’m really happy they’re so close now. We’re going to have a family reunion! Most of our relatives live far away from us, and I’m a little sad because they won’t be able to make it. All my uncles and cousins will surely be there, but my relatives from far away won’t be able to come with us today to Grandma’s house.
Three of my uncles live in different states, and two of my aunts just moved to another continent! Since nobody can come with them, I guess we will just have to wait until my relatives can come back and see us again.
I’m excited because it will be just my immediate family and my grandparents. Grandma promised to bake my favorite cakes and pies just for us, and I’m really curious to see all of my cousins and aunts and uncles! I can’t wait until I can wake up! I’m going to tell everyone to pile into cars and head straight for Grandma’s when they’re ready. I hope we don’t have to wait too long, but they always take a long time!
Grandpa says he knows a shortcut that would probably get us there in no time. He says when everyone is ready, we can take his shortcut to Grandma’s. But I’m still not too sure. I hope they aren’t planning to leave so early that I wake up thinking it’s morning when it’s really still full night outside. I wouldn’t want to miss anything. But good thing they always do because then I wouldn’t get to see them for ages.
Most of the day passes, and it’s all dark outside. Now everyone is up and happy, and I can’t wait to talk about how we are finally together again. And finally I am as well, yay! All of the family is together again, so we must also say “cheese!” for a lovely family picture with everyone smiling big! Since the camera broke, everyone gathers close and holds hands, right before everyone runs in. Huh? That was really funny! The door opened to Grandma’s house just a little tiny crack, and I think everybody has already run inside! That was so funny! Then I just heard Grandma say, “Oh everyone, please come in quickly so that we can eat!”
Wow, we ended up who knows where, running in the night, but the air is warm and friendly. And even better, no-oh wait, what’s this? Even better than another slice of pie–well actually, in the middle of breakfast, it’s become lunch! But we were so nervous that everybody would miss each other, it was just so sweet they came together, together just to get here.
I wished that everyone could come because it just wouldn’t be the same without them. Now Grandma knows how to be an excellent baker too! Now I’m really happy we have enough family love to fill a whole apartment, Grandma and Grandpa came altogether just to get the family love in there, so that we could be happy together in one big house again.
