In the vast expanse of the night sky, shimmering stars radiated their soft glow. Yet, among them, one little star named Twinkle felt disheartened. She was significantly smaller than her companions and couldn’t help but notice their brilliance. No matter how hard she tried to shine, her light seemed too faint, lost among the larger stars.
“Why can’t I be as big and bright as them?” sighed Twinkle. Her shimmering curtain of light dimmed as she watched the greater stars twinkle confidently. Each night, Twinkle awaited the wishes of sleeping children, but her light barely nudged her friends. They tried to console her, but despair clouded Twinkle’s spirit.
One night, a little boy gazed up at the sky and shut his eyes tight. “I wish,” he whispered, “I wish that I could shine as bright as the stars!” Hearing the plea, Twinkle felt a flicker of hope. “Could this be my chance?” she thought. Taking a deep breath, she tried to shine brighter, lighting every corner of the starry sky around her.
When the boy opened his eyes, he gasped in awe. “Look at that one little star shining for me! It’s so bright and beautiful!” he exclaimed, his face lighting up with joy. Twinkle’s heart swelled with warmth. In that moment, she realized something profound: Her light, even though small, mattered. She was special in her way, and that was enough.
So every night thereafter, Twinkle shone her brightest for all the dreamers staring at the sky. She had found her place and purpose, encouraging every child to believe in their dreams and to always wish upon a star, for sometimes, the smallest lights shine the brightest.
