Once upon a time, in the colorful Coral Reef, there lived a small green fish named Finn. Finn was known for his bright green scales and cheerful personality. However, he had one little problem: he often forgot important things. Despite this, Finn’s friends always supported him, and he loved to play with them.
One sunny day, Finn and his best friend, Shelly the turtle, were playing hide-and-seek near the beautiful pink coral.
“Finn, you’re it!” said Shelly, swimming away joyfully.
Finn counted to twenty and shouted, “Ready or not, here I come!” He swam around in circles, searching for Shelly. After a few minutes, he saw her under a green rock.
“I found you, Shelly!” he exclaimed, swimming closer.
“Uh, Finn,” Shelly replied, glancing upwards. Finn looked up and saw a pretty spot where sunlight poured in.
“Oh no!” Finn remembered. He had forgotten the rule of hide-and-seek: the seeker must not peek! “I’m sorry, Shelly,” he said, his cheeks a bit red.
“It’s okay, Finn. Just try to remember.”
The next day, while playing tag with Timmy the small crab, Finn forgot to touch Timmy to be ‘it’.
“Finn, you have to touch my shell to be ‘it’!” Timmy reminded him.
“Oh, right. Sorry, Timmy,” Finn sighed. His friends began to worry. What could they do to help Finn remember things?
That weekend, they decided to have a meeting. Shelly, Timmy, and Bella the starfish put their heads together.
“I know what to do!” said Shelly. She started singing:
🎵 “Finn, Finn, forgetful fish,
Remember your friends, or make a wish,
Touch a shell, or tap a face,
Keep these memories in their place.” 🎵
She repeated the song to Finn.
“Great idea, Shelly! I’ll sing this song whenever I need to remember something!” Finn exclaimed happily.
The following week, Finn and Shelly were playing near a giant underwater mushroom.
“What fun things should we do today?” Finn asked.
“Let’s have a race to the tall yellow seaweed over there!” suggested Shelly, pointing with her flipper.
“Great! But what’s a race?” Finn asked, tilting his head.
Shelly sighed, surprised Finn had forgotten such an exciting game. “Just swim really, really fast to the tall yellow seaweed!”
When Finn heard the word ‘fast’, he suddenly remembered something.
“Oh no, Shelly! I forgot today is the tide pool cleaning day! I told Daisy, the diving duck, I’d be there!” Finn exclaimed, worrying he’d forget to help Daisy. “I’m sorry, but I have to go now!” Finn quickly swam away, charting his own course. He nearly dropped his shells three times when he hit a current.
“Mooooooooooo!” Daisy quacked when Finn arrived just in time. She explained how to clean the tide pools.
As he scrubbed and cleaned, Finn greeted other sea creatures and repeated his cheerful song to himself, ensuring he didn’t forget anything Daisy told him.
Suddenly, he noticed a huge fish tangled in old fishing nets!
“Thank you for helping me!” the large fish said. Finn quickly swam around, breaking the nets until the big fish was free.
“Thank you again! You saved my life! Just tell me one thing: Do you always forget everything?” the big fish asked curiously.
Finn nodded, wrinkling his forehead. “Yes, I do!” He then sang his song.
“I love this song! It’s wonderful to help you remember things!” the huge fish replied. The two fish quickly became good friends.
From that day on, Finn remembered important things by singing his song. He never forgot to be ‘it’ when playing tag again. Finn laughed off his forgetfulness, happily embracing his memory challenges with a smile, showing that even little fish could have big hearts and unforgettable adventures.
